About Freelance/Contract Positions
As a newer media outlet, wages, and HR compliance are huge outlays that slow the development of the paper. Due to this, most positions are Freelance/Contract at this time. As we mature and expand, we aim to offer many of our Freelance and Contract people permanent paid staff positions. There is no offer guarantee, and any offer has to make sense for us, the employees, and our readers/advertisers.
All Freelancers and Contractors are responsible for any legal requirements they must follow to contract out their work. They are responsible for paying proper taxes, permits/licenses, and fees. Foxys Publishing may not, under law, provide tools, equipment, licenses, or subscriptions for free to entice contractors or freelancers to work. Freelancers/contractors who require a work area may rent a floating desk at our office for $5 per month. Desks are hot desks (shared) and are subject to availability, and they are first come, first served.
